The concept of Expedite Healthcare emerged in 2006 with the early evolution of retail clinics across the United States. We wanted to offer health care on a walk-in basis that would fall between a retail clinic and an urgent care facility. Subsequently, we saw a plateau for the retail clinic market and recognized the financial requirement necessary for long-term investment and growth. Therefore, we elected to shelve Expedite for approximately a year.
Near the end of 2007, Dr. Gary Ball and I began the discussion for aligning our practices, both medical and dental, in his near East side location here in Indianapolis. After much discussion we committed to opening our first site beside his dentistry practice, located at 4126 E. 10th St.
We have assembled a wonderful team to move us rapidly toward opening day and have met with local members of the near East side community to begin discussion regarding our extended involvement in the local community. Recently, we had an eye-opening meeting with Pastor Jim Strietelmeier of Neighborhood Fellowship Church, not far from our future Expedite site, and we look forward to further meetings in the near future.
Our services will be offered through a seasoned nurse practitioner and will include services for toddlers greater than age 2, school aged, young adult, and adult patients. Our services will vary according to need, though we will be limited by the size of our clinic.
We are excited to begin our involvement in the near East side community with the provision of a neighborhood health care clinic and look forward to a long and fruitful relationship.
