It is with both a sense of sadness and joy that I share with you the transition that Dr. Brent Toney has made effective July 1, 2009.
Dr. Toney elected to join me in practice just one year ago after completing his residency training in internal medicine at St. Vincent Hospital here in Indianapolis. Brent’s addition to our practice created a strength which allowed for our continued growth as we have seen our practice blossom through our continuing relationship with Indiana Orthopedic Hospital.
Dr. Toney’s kind and gentle spirit are appreciated at every level of our organization and to the many patients to whom he has provided care. He has supported our practice and contributed greatly to our stability and ability to provide an excellence of patient care that we all strive to achieve on a daily basis.
It is with joy, however, that I share with you his transition to fellowship training in both pulmonary and critical care medicine. This will be a three-year training process during which time he will spend various months at Methodist Hospital, University Hospital, Wishard Hospital, and the VA medical center.
On a personal note, I would share with you that his presence here has been a true blessing to me and to my family. And I wish him much success as he makes this transition in his professional career. Dr. Toney will continue to work with us on a part-time basis throughout his fellowship training period. Please join me in wishing him well as you see him over the next several weeks period of time.
