Pike Medical Consultants is a privately-owned medical practice established in 2007 by Dr. James D Pike to provide perioperative, hospitalist, and pulmonary medicine care. Dr. Pike is a native of Indianapolis who attended medical school in Kansas City, graduating from the Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences in 1984.
After 10 years in the United States Army as a physician, Dr. Pike completed his training in pulmonary and critical care medicine. He is board certified in internal medicine, pulmonary medicine, and critical care medicine. Dr. Pike’s role as a hospitalist began during his work at a long-term acute care hospital beginning in 1994. He then formed his own corporation in 2007 while developing an association with the Indiana Orthopaedic Hospital on the northwest side of Indianapolis. We provide services to IOH patients who are undergoing surgery at the hospital to ensure that their medical history is well known to staff and any medical risks can be foreseen and prevented.
We are proud to have a select group of employees committed to excellence at every point of care. Our staff currently includes two doctors, several nurse practitioners and physician assistants, as well as several administrative staff. Dr. Pike continues the care of his pulmonary patients and accepts new patients both by referral from primary care physicians and by self referrals as well.
Pike Medical staff can be found working throughout the Indianapolis area, providing hospital care for patients at Kindred Hospital Indianapolis near downtown, specializing in the care of long-term mechanical ventilator patients. We also look after patients at North Capitol Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. As we move forward into 2010 we are continuing to expand our services into Acute Care and Wellness through Expedite Walk-In Clinic.
